I can't tell you how impressed I am when my second graders prove their dedication to learning! Each unit students are asked to make flashcards out of each of their new Red Words (aka: 2nd grade high frequency words). I warn them to keep them in a safe place because we will review them throughout the year. Do they remember??? Well THIS group of Toads SURE DID! Here are a few photos of students showing off their Red Word Collection! Each will earn DOJO points upon returning from Spring Break! Thank you guys for being such great leaders and taking your learning seriously!

Assessment Next Wednesday 3/29Dear 2nd Grade Families: Please encourage your child to spend the next few evenings looking through their Science Notebook on Seesaw to prepare for our Sound Assessment next Wednesday. This may be easiest by logging onto the website (www.seesaw.me). Below are some of the topics that will be covered on the test. ~ Your 2nd grade teachers! :) :) :)
For an extra Dojo point, let me know in the comments that you revisited these pictures to help you study for our test on Friday!
Ok...so pleaaaaaasssseeee forgive me for posting this so late! Mid-Winter break came JUST after our Valentine party, and I think I may have hit my head on the trapeze!
We had an INCREDIBLE Valentine's Day bash, and a lot of hard work went into that! I first want to say THANK YOU to all families who made our party happen! We had a few masterminds behind the planning but lots of donations from across the lily pond! Thank you! I am very proud of the hard work and creativity each T-T'Toad put into their valentine box. That, plus the highly engaging activities and delicious breakfast, helped make our party a LOVELY success! Enjoy the recap video! We have a lot of fun things planned for March is Reading Month at Troy Union! Here is what you need to know to make this month a grand slam! We have already had a Kick off assembly for MIRM on February 24th to explain this fun filled month to students. Students will hand in their logs every Friday for a small prize from their teacher. I suggest keeping it all in their RED FOLDERS. No need to cut them or make additional copies. Every Friday, teachers will randomly select a name of a student who turned in a reading log for a chance to win a bigger prize (Tigers hat/soft bat/Tigers pennant). One winner per grade level will be announced on the news every Monday morning, and will be called down to receive their prize and have their picture taken! Anyone who has turned in a reading log EVERY week (4 in total) will automatically earn a free ticket to a baseball game at Jimmy John’s field set for May 21st. Parents will be able to order additional tickets for themselves or family members. Book Swap Students may bring in up to 3 gently used books to exchange for news ones during our Book Swap. Mr. Andary's students have until Tuesday, March 7th to bring in those books! Our Book swap will be on Wednesday during our Media time. Additional logs are below if you need to download and replace any! Happy Reading!
