Oh, Scott! What a lucky guy! He got MY JOB for the day thanks to his participation in the Troy Union silent auction! He's got GREAT STYLE as well! I couldn't have asked for a better replacement. I had no worries handing over the class to him today. He was organized and was a wonderful leader for all of his students. He even taught his own lesson on making paper airplanes! We made a deal though, since he did all the work IN CLASS...I had to check the spelling tests! Deal! We relaxed with a great lunch from Alibi and he ended the day by passing out Golden Toads! It was no surprise that he was able to give himself a Golden Toad in his last few minutes as teacher for the day! Today, Earth Day 2015, all Troy Union students were challenged to make a change in they way they live their lives starting today! Earth Day is really every day...but today is a day to think about new ideas and ways to help protect the Earth. One way is by reducing the amount of waste we produce with our lunches and snacks. Paper bags, zip-lock sack, plastic spoons and throw away napkins all contribute to some form of pollution (or energy needed to recycle it). We had a great day of being more considerate to the earth. Here are two photos of Room 34 students who made a conscious change to their lunch and/or snack today!
It's that time of the year! Students are working hard at home to show evidence of their learning! We've just wrapped up our sound unit in science and students are making their own instruments at home! Here are a few students showing off their handy work! Careful, I don't think and children were injured in the making of this project! I'll let you know if any missing fingers come up! Look at Avery and her Golden Toad over the Spring Break! I was holding out for more Spring Break photos...but she was the only one who shared any photos. It looks like our toad got to shop, slurp, dine on fancy chocolate covered goodness, and experience gymnastics! That sounds WAY better than MY spring break!
Thanks for sharing Avery! |
