December was the birth of the lending library idea. Once the idea was approved by students, we set forth a plan. We contacted businesses, local community reps, and parents for their participation. We voted on a theme and sent purchasing instructions to our volunteer dads!
Room 34 would like to acknowledge Mr. Tasich, Mr. O'Brien, and Mr. Rathod for their dedication to making this project a success! Thanks, Dads! We'd also like to thank the Troy Union PTO for helping us purchase our materials!
January was a month of design. Our dads brought in the many puzzle pieces it took to put our creation together and we spread them out to see our designs come alive! We had Mr. Tasich, Mr. Folk, and Mr. Mendenhall on site for the painting party! We couldn't have done it without them! Thanks again, Dads. We also got some great press in the School Life Troy News (see March issue), the Oakland Press, and even the Troy Times!
March is a month of pride. We are very proud of the hard work we've done. In the most humble way possible, we'd like to share our success. We have 3 completed lending libraries, which we plan to unveil at our Leadership Assembly on Monday-21st.
