Thank you Mrs. Bender and Mrs. Stransky's class for joining us for a celebration of reading. Both 2nd and 1st graders had lots to be proud of. From Word Detectives to readers who can roll up their sleeves when books become challenging, all students showed a love for reading today and enjoyed sharing their books with an audience. Today, all GradeTWO students gathered to participate in a shared writing activity, where we learned how to carve a pumpkin! We did an incredible job working together to retell the steps, including: a lead, transition words, descriptive adjectives, and a special ending! One other thing we did was take photos of the whole thing! Check out how it all happened below! GradeTWO families want to know how they can help their Writers at home! How exciting is that!? Here are a few tools you can check out to support your child's writing goal. Personal Narrative Resources:Weekend Graphic Organizers
Dear Tree-Toppin' Toads!
You have been working so hard to learn tons of new strategies in math this unit. I can't wait to see how well you do on our unit assessment. Use this answer key to study tonight. Tomorrow is the big day! Leave a comment letting me know you were proactive and used this to help you study (for Dojo points). Room 34's Teacher for the Day!Anna did a spectacular job working to raise a very generous amount of donations for our school for the Fun Run! So she got to take over the class for the day and learn what it was like to lead such a great group of kiddos. She taught a really cool lesson about her favorite collectible, sea shells, and even let her students take one home for themselves! So thoughtful, she is! Check out some of the pictures below! You were all proactive and knew that every penny earned was a penny towards reaching our goal. Together, Troy Union raised over $26,000! I bet that makes your heart smile a bit! That run not only helped your body stay in shape, but it also made your heart and soul feel great! Thank you to ALL the Room 34 families that pitched in and donated money for our school! |
